Using FillCue with ReporterBase (RB9)
FillCue runs alongside RB9 - bring your reporter roster in and fill open assignments fast, with nothing to migrate.
FillCue runs alongside RB9
FillCue does not replace ReporterBase. You keep RB9 for case management, scheduling, billing, and production - everything you already do there stays the same. FillCue handles the one job RB9 was never built for: filling an open assignment fast when a reporter cancels the morning of.
There is nothing to migrate and nothing to rip out. FillCue runs as a standalone app alongside RB9, so you can start today without an IT project, a vendor approval, or any change to your RB setup.
Bring your reporter roster in
Get your reporters into FillCue once and you are ready to send coverage requests. Export your roster from RB9 (or anywhere) to a spreadsheet, then import it in a couple of minutes:
- Go to Contacts and click Import.
- Upload a CSV, Excel (.xlsx), or vCard (.vcf) file. FillCue auto-detects common columns like name, email, and phone.
- Review the preview, optionally add everyone to a group, and confirm the TCPA attestation (you have an existing professional relationship with these reporters and have told them they may receive FillCue messages).
- Click Import.
The Importing Contacts from CSV guide has the full walkthrough, column mapping, and troubleshooting.
Filling an open assignment
When an assignment needs coverage, enter it in FillCue and start a request:
- Create the job in FillCue with the date, time, location, and any details reporters need.
- Pick the reporters (or a group) to reach, in priority order.
- FillCue sends each one an SMS and email with accept and decline links, and stops the moment someone accepts.
- You confirm the assignment in RB9 the way you always have.
Reporters never need an account, an app, or RB Connect - they just reply to the text or click the email link. See How outreach works for the full sequence.
Do I need a special RB9 plan or add-on?
No. FillCue does not connect to your RB database and does not require RB9 Standard, a Data Reader login, or any firewall change. Because FillCue runs standalone, the only thing you bring over is your reporter roster - and that is a spreadsheet import you can do yourself in minutes.
